The Priesthood of Christ is a series of sermons preached by the Rev Peter MacBride in the years 1841 and 1842 on the office and work of Christ as the great High Priest. Based on Hebrews 4:14, ‘Seeing then we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession’, his handling of the subject is both practical and profound. Although the sermons are presented in unpolished form, they provide an excellent specimen of the doctrinal, experimental, and unctuous preaching which characterised the best of the Scottish pulpit in the first half of the 19th Century. 93pp.
