This volume contains all the extant sermons of the Rev. James Sinclair who exercised his relatively short ministry during the first quarter of the twentieth century, in the John Knox Congregation of the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland in the Gorbals, Glasgow. The eighteen sermons give evidence of a “workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. They are notable for their theological clarity and set forth in equal measure – man’s guilt and depravity, and the way of salvation through a crucified and risen Saviour. His was no ordinary ministry and his preaching gave no uncertain sound. The reader is left with the palpable impression that his preaching was from the heart and that it is the truth as it is in Jesus.
