\u00a0<\/span>This volume contains all the extant sermons of the Rev. James Sinclair\u00a0who exercised his relatively short ministry during the first quarter of\u00a0<\/span>the twentieth century, in the John Knox Congregation of the Free\u00a0<\/span>Presbyterian Church of Scotland in the Gorbals, Glasgow. The\u00a0<\/span>eighteen sermons give evidence of a “workman that needeth not to be\u00a0<\/span>ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. They are notable for their\u00a0<\/span>theological clarity and set forth in equal measure – man’s guilt and\u00a0<\/span>depravity, and the way of salvation through a crucified and risen\u00a0<\/span>Saviour. His was no ordinary ministry and his preaching gave no\u00a0<\/span>uncertain sound. The reader is left with the palpable impression that\u00a0<\/span>his preaching was from the heart and that it is the truth as it is in Jesus.<\/span><\/p>
